Community Guidelines
Last updated: 28 October 2026
Linkup is a place for adults to meet with kindness, honesty and respect. These Community Guidelines are part of our Terms of Service and apply to everything you do on Linkup, and to conduct off Linkup that affects our members, including in-person meetings. Breaking them can lead to removal of content, a warning, suspension or a permanent ban, without notice, and serious cases are reported to the police.
Zero tolerance
These lead to an immediate, permanent ban and, where appropriate, a report to law enforcement:
- Anyone under 18 using Linkup, and any sexual, exploitative or harmful content or contact involving minors.
- Sexual violence, coercion, threats of violence, or encouraging anyone to harm themselves or others.
- Sharing intimate images without consent, sextortion or blackmail.
- Human trafficking, commercial sex, escort services or solicitation.
- Romance scams, fraud, or asking for money, gifts, cryptocurrency, investments or financial details.
- Terrorism, violent extremism, or promoting organisations that do harm.
- Selling or promoting drugs, weapons or other illegal goods and services.
Be real
- Use your own name, true age and recent photos that show only you.
- Have one account. Don't impersonate anyone, create fake profiles or catfish.
- Be honest about your intentions and relationship status.
- Don't use Linkup for business, advertising, recruiting, politics campaigns or followers.
Be respectful
- No harassment, bullying, insults, threats, stalking or intimidation.
- No hate speech or discrimination based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age or any other protected trait.
- No unsolicited sexual messages, photos or requests. Consent comes first, every time.
- Respect a "no", silence or an unmatch. Don't contact someone again with another account or on another platform.
- Don't share anyone's private information, screenshots or conversations without their permission.
Content we don't allow
- Nudity, sexually explicit or suggestive content in profiles, stories or photos.
- Graphic violence, gore, self-harm or animal cruelty.
- Content that is illegal or infringes someone else's copyright, trademark or privacy.
- Spam, links to scams, malware or adult sites, and repeated identical messages.
Meeting in person
Linkup only suggests people and ideas. We don't screen members, and we aren't responsible for what anyone does on or off the app. You are responsible for your own safety and choices.
- Until you know someone well, meet only in busy public places, never at home, in a car or anywhere private.
- Tell a friend where you're going and who you're meeting, and arrange your own transport.
- Stay in control of your drinks and belongings, and leave whenever you want to.
- Never send money or share financial or private details.
- If you are in danger, call your local emergency number first, then report the person in the app.
Reporting
If someone breaks these rules, use Report and Block on their profile or in the chat. Reports are confidential: the person is not told who reported them. False or malicious reports are themselves a breach of these Guidelines.
How we enforce
- We may review profiles, content and reports, using people and automated tools, but we are not obliged to monitor everything and cannot catch everything.
- Depending on how serious it is, we may remove content, limit features, warn, suspend or permanently ban an account, at our discretion and without notice.
- We may also act on conduct that happens outside Linkup, such as in person or on other platforms, when it puts our members at risk.
- Banned members may not return with a new account. We may block devices and networks to stop them.
- We keep records of serious violations and share them with the police or other authorities when the law requires it or when someone's safety is at risk.
Appeals
If you believe we made a mistake, contact us through the Safety page and explain why. A person will review your appeal. Our decision after review is final, except where the law gives you further rights.
